Businesses normally have originated as a start up in an entrepreneurial space where very often the business owners have not been exposed to any formal processes so it becomes a case of "I don't know what I don't know". 

A Brand Engagement strategy is simply the most valuable step of you creating a business that is prepared to scale and grow.  It breaks the business into 6 profit processes with the supporting processes behind them linking every single action that a stakeholder takes and ensures that every single person involved understands their role, their accountability and responsibility and most importantly their significance in achieving the end goal - profit.

The danger for businesses that do not have the strategy in place is that they "surf".  This is a Gill saying but describes the activity of increased action in one direction, which is then dropped to deliver on another action and then the return to the original action and so it goes.  A very typical example of surfing is when there is a very tight team who are multi-tasking - and the business needs to sell.  So everyone goes on a sales mission - gets some business - stops the selling to become operators and deliver what they sold - only to find that they have no more business in the pipeline.  Cut. Copy. Paste.  And so the surfing continues.

There are two key words in business that Gill always uses when doing Business Optimisation.  Cost and Investment. 

• A cost is when you pay for something and the use of whatever was purchased will not shift the bottom line (profit / EBITDA). 
• An investment is when you pay for something and the use of whatever was purchase shifts the bottom line (Profit / EBITDA).

Very simply we know that if the business accepts and then becomes ambassadors of change that might be necessary when designing and implementing your Brand Engagement strategy, applying the principles of our Profit Equation (find the full explanation in Resources), initially you will be investing way more time and effort  (bottom half) with little tangible results, and as we start to implement the strategy the investment in time and effort diminishes and the results as measured in actual profit and assurance of success increases.  This is what an investment looks like.  Growth with some time and effort that delivers better results than before.

When people resist the change and do not want to shift their habits it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy - it is a cost.  

Our team cannot determine which side of the fence you are on.  This is why we are selective about whom we work with, as very simply your success is our success.  We are not looking at a transaction between us for the short term. Whilst we may only be working together intensively for a fixed period - our goal is to stay engaged and share as many tools and tactics for you to build your arsenel with whilst you maintain and build your momentum.
